But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. (Isaiah 40:31)

Academics

Curriculum | Kindergarten | Elementary | Secondary | Class webpages

academics pageThe academics at Heritage Christian Academy are distinguished from other educational institutions by the philosophy from which subjects are taught and by the people who teach them. Our purpose in Christian education is the development of Christ-likeness in each life.

Academics are taught with the above objective in mind. Heritage Christian Academy also recognizes that all truth originates from God. Each teacher and staff member strives to be examples of the truths they teach. Knowledgeable, experienced teachers with a sense of divine purpose equal a commitment to excellence in every endeavor, especially academics.

Heritage Christian Academy provides a challenging instructional program for students in K-4 through Grade 12. The lower grades utilize a strong phonics based reading program. Our secondary program is mostly college preparatory. Our students are challenged to develop their critical thinking skills and encouraged to strive for excellence.

What you Can Expect For Your Child From Heritage Christian Academy

As a parent, you are concerned that your child develop his human potential to its fullest. You have desired to see your child grow mentally, socially, emotionally, and physically. Thus far through his short life you have sought to provide him with experiences to “stretch” him. Perhaps your child has been away a camp, on trips with the youth group – experiences that emotionally stretched him – and you.

In choosing Heritage Christian Academy, you not only want his human potential stretched, you are looking for a place that will strengthen his spiritual life – a place that will provide an environment to saturate him with the ways and will of God. Choosing to send your child to Heritage Christian Academy is an important step in his development. You have given your child the foundation for a Godly perspective of life, and that foundation will be reinforced and strengthened at HCA.

In Heritage Christian Academy, your child will be exposed to the right kind of pressure through our spiritual, academic and disciplinary standards in the right environment. An environment where God is sought and where much support from spiritual teachers and peers exist. No school has all the answers for you or your child, but every school teaches from a point of view from which your child will find his own answers.

Some have called this concept a “hot house” approach. They are right! A proper spiritual temperature is maintained and proper nourishment and care are provided until the young plant becomes hardy enough to survive alone, and in the case of the Christian student, until his philosophy of life is crystallized.

This was the approach Moses took in preparing the children of Israel to enter the pagan, affluent culture of Canaan. He admonished the fathers and leaders to provide an environment which was saturated with the ways and will of God lest their children “forget the Lord” (Deuteronomy 6:5 – 15).

You can be assured that your child will be given a Biblical perspective and that there will be others around him to offer support. Prayerfully, the results will be those you have been seeking all along – the development of your child’s natural abilities and the materialization of proper spiritual, Biblical values.
