Our Mission
It is the purpose of Heritage Christian Academy to train students in truth and righteousness leading the students toward Christ-likeness, to uphold the Christian family, and support the local Bible-believing Church. We accomplish this purpose by honoring the Lord Jesus Christ; by believing and applying God’s Word; by employing a qualified, and Godly staff; by using Godly materials and methods of teaching; by attempting to involve parents and local pastors in the educational process; and by recognizing that students are a unique creation of God.
Our History
Heritage Christian Academy opened in 1988 as a ministry of Heritage Baptist Church under the leadership of its founder, Darrell W. Smith. Pastor Smith served as the Pastor of Heritage Baptist Church from 1978 until the spring of 2001. Dr. Roy R. Wise serves as the present Pastor of Heritage Baptist Church.

Faculty
We have 12 faculty members on staff. Almost fifty percent hold master’s degrees and others on our faculty are presently working on their advanced degrees. All of our instructors are born-again Christians who are dedicated to serving the Lord through the ministry of teaching young people.
Enrollment
Our current enrollment is approximately 100 students.
Facilities
Heritage Christian Academy provides attractive classrooms and an up-to-date computer lab. There is room for the expansion of our facilities in our present location.
Academics
Heritage Christian Academy provides a challenging instructional program for students in K-4 through Grade 12. The lower grades utilize a strong phonics based reading program. Our secondary program is mostly college preparatory. Our students are challenged to develop their critical thinking skills and encouraged to strive for excellence.
Achievement Testing
We presently administer the Stanford-10 Achievement Tests in grades one through 11. Average scores are well above the national norms for the Stanford Achievement Test.
PSAT Testing
We are an approved testing center for the PSAT test. This test is administered in the fall of each school year to registered tenth and eleventh grade students.
ACT Testing
We are an approved ACT testing center. The ACT is administered to registered students in February each year.
Athletics
Young men in grades 7 – 12 may participate in soccer and basketball. At the present, young ladies in grades 7 - 12 may participate in volleyball. In the spring of the year, our state association offers a track and field day for students in grades 4 – 12.
Fine Arts Program
Our fine arts program includes classroom music instruction. Private lessons are available in piano. Graded choir is also available for upper elementary and secondary students. Each year, our student body performs a Christmas program in December and a patriotic program in May.
Values
Heritage Christian Academy teaches that the values of the Bible govern our personal lives within the family and other social settings.
Discipline
Students are expected to obey the rules and regulations of the school because “it is always right to do right.” Discipline helps teach character and moral strength even under difficult circumstances. In grades 1 – 6, a discipline notice system is used. In grades 7 – 12, a demerit system is used. The goal of both systems is to communicate with parents. Ultimately, a student’s behavior, whether good or ill, rests with the student’s parent(s).
Extended Care Program
We provide supervised early and late stay programs for all students. Students may arrive as early as 7:30 a.m. Families of students who arrive between 7:30 and 8:00 a.m., are charged $3.00 a day for this convenience. Families of students who are in our late stay program are charged $7.00 a day.
Graduate Profile
Over 90% of our graduates enroll in four-year colleges and universities. Graduates have attended schools such as: Bob Jones University, Cedarville University, College of New Jersey, Eastern College, Johns Hopkins University, Messiah College, New York University, Pensacola Christian College.
